January 11— “Low Impact Gardening” Member Rhonda Heimericks will examine the ways that garden club members can lessen their impact on the environment by using eco friendly practices such as chemical free, planting natives requiring less water, installing a rain barrel, composting yard clippings and kitchen scraps, etc.
February 8— “Pot Party” Members will take their favorite house plant to Longfellow’s Garden Center for repotting. Alice Longfellow will also give us hints on proper fertilization, watering, propagation techniques and cleaning the leaves.
At this meeting Jennice Taggart, 2011 President, presented Lenda Lebeck, our long time member, former President and Treasurer with a FGCM Life Membership award on her retirement.

Our club had a great time at Longfellow's Garden Center in Centertown when our club repotted plants with tips from Alice on improving the growth of straggly houseplants. We followed the meeting with lunch at Tammy's restaurant where she favored us with chocolate covered strawberries and caramels.

2010 News & Meetings
Twin City December 2010 Meeting
This was our group at the Christmas party/lunch at President Jenice Taggart's home in December. Her home sits on a bluff overlooking the Missouri River and it was a beautiful setting with light blanket of snow on the ground. We could also view the colorful guests of hungry birds at her backyard feeder that included some wild turkeys.
